Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS)

Advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) are electronic systems that assist drivers in driving and parking functions. Through a safe human-machine interface, ADAS increases car and road safety. ADAS systems use automated technology, such as sensors and cameras, to detect nearby obstacles or driver errors, and respond accordingly.

Most road accidents occur due to human error. Advanced driver-assistance systems are systems developed to automate, adapt, and enhance vehicle systems for safety and better driving. ADAS’s automated systems are proven to reduce road fatalities by minimizing human error. Safety features are designed to avoid accidents and collisions by offering technologies that alert the driver to problems, implementing safeguards, and taking control of the vehicle if necessary. Adaptive features may automate lighting, provide adaptive cruise control, assist in avoiding collisions, incorporate satnav/traffic warnings, alert drivers to possible obstacles, assist in lane departure and lane centering, provide navigational assistance through smartphones, and provide many more features.

Factory Diagnostics

Why is that warning light on? What is wrong with my car?

We all rely on our vehicles every day to get us where we need to go. Whether driving back and forth to work, or planning a road trip, we need our vehicles safe and reliable. So when your vehicle starts acting differently and a dash warning light comes on, the first things that come to mind are what’s wrong with my car, and how much is it going to cost to fix?

Today’s vehicles have many different computers. These computers communicate with each other through a data line. If one computer goes down, it can impact a completely different system along with the one it controls. Because today’s vehicles are so complex, it can be very difficult to pinpoint the problem without proper diagnostic equipment.

Driven Automotive Takes The Guess Work Out Of Diagnostics

We built our reputation around diagnosing and repairing the “Problem Cars.” From day one we have had the most up to date Factory Diagnostic equipment along with the proper training to ensure we get to the root cause of any warning light coming on in the dash of your vehicle. When we diagnose a warning light, you can rest assured we are not guessing at what the problem is, we know what it is, and we will recommend what needs to be done to get you on the road as efficiently as possible.

Oil Filter & Lube Service

Changing the engine oil on your vehicle is one of the best preventative maintenance items that can be done for your engine. It is important to be sure to add the correct oil when changing it on today’s modern engines. Due to their design, installing the incorrect oil may cause premature failure. Driven Automotive has the right oil for your vehicle.

Regular filter replacement is another way to prevent premature engine trouble. Oil filter, cabin air filter, fuel filter, and engine air filter maintenance stop dirt and debris from wreaking havoc on the operation of your vehicle. It is always wise to inspect these filters when changing oil. If they are dirty, or have been in the vehicle longer than the manufacturer’s recommended service interval, they should be replaced.

Changing oil regularly at Driven Automotive gives us the opportunity to keep an eye on any maintenance items we may have mentioned in the past. We can inform you of their progress and when it may be time to replace them. By doing this, we help you save money and get the most out of your vehicle.

Oil Change Intervals

There are so many different opinions of how far one should travel between oil changes. Some manufacturers recommend once a year, or 25,000 kilometers. Many are much lower. When oil wears, the lubrication properties deteriorate, and the oil starts to sludge up. When the oil sludges up, it does not flow properly to lubricate the moving parts in the engine effectively. This will cause premature engine failure. Driven Automotive recommends oil change intervals of 6,000 kilometers for gasoline engines and 8,000 kilometers for diesel engines, or once a year whichever occurs first.

Preventative Maintenance Service

The key to keeping your vehicle running smoothly and reliably is regular preventative maintenance. Vehicle manufacturers recommend different services performed on your vehicle a specific mileage intervals. Check your owner’s manual for factory recommended maintenance that is specific to your vehicle. This is a pretty good guide to help you figure out what service your vehicle needs at the different mileage intervals. But this is only just a start because there are so many different types of road conditions, weather conditions and driving styles that significantly affect when your vehicle may need a service performed.
